Be the first player to move all four of your pawns from your Start area, around the board, and into your Home space. But be careful opponents can bump you back at any time!
Set the game board in the center of the table.
Each player selects a color and takes the four matching pawns. Place all pawns in your matching Start circle.
Shuffle the deck of Sorry! cards and place it face down on the designated spot on the board.
The youngest player goes first, or players may draw cards to decide who starts.
On your turn:
You must draw the top card from the deck and follow the instructions written on it.
Each card tells you how to move one of your pawns.
If you cannot move, your turn ends.
To move a pawn from Start onto the board, you must draw a 1 or 2 card.
If you don’t draw a 1 or 2, you must wait until your next turn.
(Some movement values may vary slightly depending on edition.)
Sorry! Card Take one pawn from Start and replace an opponent’s pawn on the board — sending them back to Start.
If you land on a slide that is NOT your color:
Slides help you move quickly — but also cause chaos.
If you land on a space occupied by another player’s pawn:
That player must wait for another 1 or 2 to re-enter.
Each color has a Safety Zone near Home.
To enter your Home space:
The first player to get all 4 pawns Home wins.
The winner is the first player to successfully move all four pawns from Start to Home.
Victory often comes down to timing, patience, and smart card use.
✔ Try to get all pawns out of Start early.
✔ Use slides strategically for maximum advantage.
✔ Keep at least one pawn safely progressing.
✔ Save your Sorry! card opportunity wisely.
✔ Blocking opponents can slow them down.
